Establishment Of CAG

Duties Of CAG

  • The assignment of CAG is enacted according to the constitution of the country.
  • To submit audit report of accounts of President’s Center.
  • To submit the audit report to the Governor of the accounts of the state.
  • To audit the accounts relating to contingency fund and expenditure from public account of India and each state.
  • To audit the accounts in respect of expenditure from the Consolidated Fund of India and the Consolidated Fund of each State and Union State.
  • To audit the receipts and expenditure of central or state revenue funded government companies and other organizations.
  • To audit the balance sheet, trade, manufacturing and profit and loss or any other account of any department of the Central or State Governments.

CAG Salary

The salary and other facilities of any CAG are fixed in the Parliament of the country under the 1971 CAG Act. His salary is as much as the salary of a Supreme Court judge. After assuming this assignment, the CAG cannot connect with any other governmental or non-governmental functions. Currently the salary of a CAG is Rs. 90,000.
