Dr Ambedkar Scholarship Eligibility

The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria to apply for this scholarship:-

For Scheduled Caste-

• Scholarships will be paid to the students whose parents/guardians’ income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2,50,000/- (Rupees two lakh, fifty thousands only) per annum.
• The scholarships are open to nationals of India.
• These scholarships will be given for the study of all recognized post-matriculation or post-secondary courses pursued in recognized institutions with the following exceptions:-
  • “Scholarships are not awarded for training courses like Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Courses and Private Pilot license Courses. Courses at Training – Ship Dufferin (Now Rajendra), courses of training at the Military College, Dehradun, courses at Preexamination Training Centres of all India and State levels.”
• Only those candidates who belong to Scheduled Castes so specified in relation to the State/Union Territory to which the applicant actually belongs i.e. permanently settled and who have passed the Matriculation or Higher Secondary or any higher examination of a recognised University or Board of Secondary Education, will be eligible.
• Candidates who after passing one stage of education are studying in the same stage of education in different subject e.g. I.Sc. after I.A. or B.Com. after B.A. or M.A. in other subjects will not be eligible.
• Students who, after having completed their educational career in one professional line, e.g. L.L.B. after B.T./B.Ed. will not be eligible. From the academic year 1980-81, studies in two professional courses are allowed.
• Students studying in Class XI of the Higher Secondary School courses of the XII Class of the Multipurpose High School will not be eligible for it being a continuous school course. However, in cases where Xth class examination of such courses is treated as equivalent to Matriculation and students who after passing Xth class join other courses, such students will be treated as post-matric students and will be eligible for the award of scholarships.
• Students pursuing Post Graduate courses in medicine will be eligible if they are not allowed to practice during the period of their course.
• Students who after failing or passing the under graduate/post-graduate examinations in Arts/Science/Commerce join any recognised professional or Technical certificate/diploma/degree courses will be awarded scholarships if otherwise eligible. No subsequent failure will be condoned except courses in Group ‘I’.
• Students who pursue their studies through correspondence courses are also eligible. The term correspondence includes distant and continuing education.
• Employed students whose income combined with the income of their parents/guardians does not exceed the maximum prescribed income ceiling are made eligible to post matric scholarships to the extent of reimbursement of all compulsorily payable nonrefundable fees.
• All children of the same parents/guardians will be entitled to receive benefits of the scheme.
• Scholarship holders who are receiving coaching in any of the pre-examination training centres with financial assistance from the Central Government/ State Government will not be eligible for stipend under the coaching schemes for the duration of the coaching programme

For OBC-

• Employed students whose income combined with the income of their parents/guardians does not exceed Rs. 1.00 lakh per annum shall be eligible for post-matric scholarships to the extent of reimbursement of all compulsorily payable non-refundable fees. In case of unemployed students whose parents/guardians income from all sources does not exceed Rs. 1.00 lakh per annum will be entitled for the scholarship under the Scheme.
• The scholarships will be open to Indian nationals belonging to OBCs
• These scholarships will be given for the study of all recognized post-matriculation or post-secondary courses pursued in recognized institutions with the following exceptions:-
  • “Scholarships are not awarded for training courses like Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Courses and Private Pilot license Courses. Dr. Ambedkar Scholarship Rewards:

Group I – Graduate and PG-level courses like M.Phil., Ph.D. Post-doctoral Medicine Research, Engineering & Allied courses, Veterinary & Allied Classes, Fashion Tech, Agriculture, Management, etc. Commercial Pilot License (CPL) course PG Diploma courses in leadership & Pharmacy CA/ ICWA/ CS/ CFA/ L.L.M	Hosteller receives Rs. 1200 per month for a period of 10 months. Rs. 550 per month is provided today scholars for a period of 10 months.
Group II – Graduate/ PG courses leading to degree/ diploma/ certificate in areas such as pharmacy, Nursing, LLB, BFS, Mass Com, Hotel Management, Financial Services for which minimum level in class 12 and more PG Courses such as MA/ M.Sc./ M.Com/ M.Ed. etc.	Rs. 820 per month for a period of 10 months. Today scientists are provided Rs. 530 per month for a period of 10 months.
Group III – All classes not followed by Group I &II and leading to a BA/ B.Sc/ B.Com degree, etc. Hostellers are granted.	Rs. 570 per month for a period of 10 months. Day scholars are provided Rs.300 per month for a duration of 10 months.
Group IV – All non-degree post-matriculation classes fro which the minimum qualification is class 10 such as class 11 & 12, both general and professional, ITI, 3-year Diploma, Polytechnic, etc.	Hostellers receive Rs.380 per month for a period of 10 months. Day scholars are provided Rs. 230 per month for a duration of 10 months.

Dr. Ambedkar Pre Matric Scholarship 2022 to DNT Students:

Ans: You can make fresh registration, by entering the correct category and apply for scholarship under that Scheme. Institute is to be informed about the error, so that there will be a Permanent rejection of your wrong application.

Ques: What is the last date for submitting applications online?

Ans: For such dates please look at the “Announcement” box in the home page. It is important to mention here that after registration the student login id and password will be valid for only fifteen days during which he has to apply for the scholarship. After fifteen days if the student has not applied for the scholarship his credentials will become invalid and he /she has to register again.

Ques: How can I forward the Application to the Institute?

Ans: After completion of entry and final edit(if any), click on “Edit-Lock-Print” option, then on “Lock” to forward the application to the Institute.
