What NTSE is?

NTSE also abbreviated as National Talent Search Examination is a national level scholarship program held under the supervisions of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to identify and encourage talented students throughout India.

As per NTSE Eligibility Criteria, NTSE exam gets conducted only for the Class 10th students. Further there are two level of NTSE Examination. To appear in Level 2 Examination it is must for contenders to qualify Level 1.

A total of 1,000 students can avail scholarships under the following NTSE categories:

  • 1250 per month for Class 11th and 12th level
  • 2000 per month for UG and PG level
  • Amount for Phd to be fixed in accordance with UGC norms

NTSE Selection Process:

There are 02 stages of NTSE Selection procedure that are: NTSE Stage I and NTSE Stage II

MTSE Stage 1 includes: Mental Ability test (MAT) and Part II of Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Also, in Part II, there are 50 Language-related questions.

Similarly, NTSE Stage-II also has two parts – Part I and Part II. The pattern of MAT in Part-I of this stage is similar to that in Stage-I. However, Part-II of SAT consists of 100 questions from Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. The SAT section tests the candidates’ reading ability, interpretation, evaluation and general awareness about the subjects.
