IBPS RRB Selection Procedure

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has made some changes in IBPS RRB Selection Procedure!!! Mode of hiring for Officer/Office Asst Post will be now done on the basis of marks secured by them in IBPS RRB Exam.

As per the IBPS RRB Selection Criteria, applicants will have to clear six stages in the IBPS RRB Exam which are screening of application forms, preliminary examination followed by mains/single online exam, Interview, document verification and provisional allotment.

IBPS RRB Selection Procedure-Details:

Candidates for the post of Officers Scale I, II & III will be selected on the basis of mains exam/single exam and interview. However, candidates for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) will be selected based on their performance in mains exam only.

IBPS RRB Selection Process 2018

It is very important for aspirants to first understand the procedure of the exam instead of preparing without knowing what it is and what it will lead to. The selection procedure of IBPS RRB includes six stages:

  • Online registration
  • Preliminary Examination
  • Mains Examination
  • Single Online Examination
  • Common Interview
  • Document verification
  • Final allotment

Stage#1: Online Registration

Firstly those candidates who want to make their career in banking sector they can apply for IBPS RRB Recruitment. They should register themselves through online mode. After that the selection authority will shortlist candidates through screening of application forms.

Screening of application forms will be done on the basis of academic records or achievements mentioned by the candidates in IBPS RRB Application Form.

Stage#2: Preliminary Examination

Those aspirants who are going to apply for Officers Scale I and Office Assistants (Multipurpose) Post will have to appear for the Preliminary Examination.

The Preliminary Examination for both the posts will be conducted for 80 marks. There will be two sections – Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude in the exam. Check out the IBPS RRB Exam Pattern through below stated table:

Candidates (for both posts) have to qualify in both the tests by securing minimum cut-off marks. Candidates in each category, depending upon requirements, will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

Stage#3: Online Mains Examination

Aspirants who successfully qualify IBPS RRB Preliminary Examination will be called for Online Mains Examination.

Mains Examination for Officers and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) will be conducted for 200 marks. There will be five sections – Reasoning, Numerical Ability, General Awareness, English, Hindi language and Computer Knowledge in the test.

Candidates applying for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) will be provided provisional allotment on the basis of the marks obtained in the Mains Examination and vacancies reported by RRBs.

For the post of Officers Scale I, candidates qualifying the Mains Examination will be called for the Interview.

Stage#4: Single Online Examination

Candidates applying for Scale II (Generalist and Specialists) and Scale III will appear for a single Online Examination. Shortlisted candidates in the single examination will subsequently be called for a Common Interview.

The Total marks for the tests will be 200. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Single examination to be considered to be shortlisted for interview.

Stage#5: Interview

Only qualified in the IBPS Prelims and mains are eligible to appear In the IBPS Interview Round. IBPS Interview will be conducted only for the post of Officers Scale I, II and III.  The interview will be co-ordinate by the Nodal Regional Rural Bank with the help of NABARD and IBPS in consultation with the appropriate authority.

The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks/scores in interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The minimum qualifying marks for the post of Officers Scale II and III should not be less than 40% for all the candidates except 35% for SC / ST/OBC/PWD candidates.

Stage#6: Document Verification

Candidates who will shortlisted through personal interview round then will be called for Document Verification Round. In case it is detected at any stage of the recruitment process that, the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria his/her candidature/ chance in the process shall stand cancelled.

Issuance of appointment letter including terms and conditions, formalities for verification, joining etc. is solely the decision of the RRBs and shall be final and binding.

Stage#7: Final Allotment

The relative (ratio) of CWE and interview will be 80:20 respectively for the Officers cadre. A candidate should qualify both in the CWE and interview and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for subsequent provisional allotment process.

On completion of the interview process/ main examination, depending on the vacancies to be filled in, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the RRBs based on merit-cum-preference.
