Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi is going to conduct JEE Advanced on 23-08-2020. According to JEE Advanced Exam Pattern 2020, the test will be conducted in Computer Based mode and have two papers – Paper I and Paper II. JEE Advanced Exam Structure- Important Highlights:

Mode: As per JEE Advanced Paper Structure, the exam is conducting through online mode.

Type of JEE Advanced Paper: JEE Advanced 2020 will be consisting of two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2). Both papers are compulsory to attempt.

JEE Advanced Time Limit: 3 hours will be provided for each paper. Some extra time will be given to the PwD candidates.

Shift: As per Exam Pattern of JEE Advanced, the paper 1 will be conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and paper 2 will be organized from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

Type of JEE Advanced Questions: Objective type questions will be asked in the exam.

Language: The language of the exam will be in English and Hindi.

Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects will be asked in the exam.

JEE Advanced Marking Scheme: There is a provision of negative marking. It is different for each paper.

JEE Advanced 2020 Exam Pattern:

JEE Advanced Paper 1 Exam Pattern:

  • 4 marks will be awarded for each right answer. (If only the bubbles corresponding to options are darkened).
  • 1 mark will be awarded for aspirants as partial mark for darkening a bubble corresponding to each correct option provided no incorrect option is darkened.
  • Negative marking depends upon the section.
  • For section 1 and 3, 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer while for Section 2, 2 marks will be deducted.
  • In Paper 1, questions are asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

 JEE Advanced Paper 2 Exam Pattern:

  • Aspirants will get 3 marks for the correct answer in Section 1 and 3, and for section 2, 4 marks will be given (If only the bubbles corresponding to all the correct options are darkened).
  • 1 mark will be allotted as partial marks (For darkening a bubble corresponding to each correct option provided no incorrect options are darkened).
  • For section 1 and 2, there will be negative marking of 1 and 2 marks respectively for the incorrect response.
  • For section 3, there is no provision of Negative Marking.
