नीट की फुल फॉर्म “राष्ट्रीय पात्रता व प्रवेश परीक्षा” होती है। भारत में मेडिकल की तैयारी करने वाले छात्रों के लिए प्रवेश परीक्षा के सिद्धांत से नीट परीक्षा का आयोजन किया गया, जिसमें पूरे भारत के छात्रों के लिए एमबीबीएस व बीडीएस में प्रवेश के लिए परीक्षा का आयोजन हुआ, जिसे राष्ट्रीय पात्रता व प्रवेश परीक्षा यानि राष्ट्रीय पात्रता व प्रवेश परीक्षा कहा गया।
नेशनल एलिजिबिलिटी कम एंट्रेंस टेस्ट (NEET) का आयोजन नेशनल टेस्टिंग एजेंसी (NTA) द्वारा उन छात्रों के लिए किया जाता है, जो भारत में सरकारी या निजी मेडिकल कॉलेजों में मेडिसिन और डेंटल कोर्स की पढ़ाई करना चाहते हैं। 2019 से पहले, परीक्षण को सीबीएसई द्वारा प्रोमेट्रिक टेस्टिंग प्राइवेट लिमिटेड के साथ संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में मुख्यालय में प्रशासित किया गया था। अंडर ग्रेजुएट (यूजी) पाठ्यक्रमों के लिए, परीक्षा को उन छात्रों के लिए NEET-UG कहा जाता है जो एमबीबीएस, बीडीएस जैसे स्नातक चिकित्सा पाठ्यक्रमों का अध्ययन करना चाहते हैं।

Full Form Of NEET is National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam and it is currently conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which provides the results to Directorate General of Health Services at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The Government of India introduced NEET in order to change several different medical examinations throughout India including AIPMT.
Types Of NEET Exams:
There are two types of NEET Exams, the first NEET-UG and the other NEET-PG.
- NEET UG: The NEET-UG examination is conducted for admission in MBBS and BDS (Under Graduate) courses and it is conducted by NTA
- NEET PG: While the NEET-PG exam is organized for MS and MD (Post Graduate) course and it is conducted by National Board of Examination.

NEET-UG stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam Under Graduate & it is a single entrance test for admissions to more than 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats across India. In 2020 NEET exam, around 80% of the candidates wrote the exam in English, 11% in Hindi, 4.31% in Gujarati, 3% in Bengali and 1.86% in Tamil.
