The name of current or 14th President of India is Mr. Ram Nath Kovind. He is an Indian Politician who becomes the Current President of India since 2017. The 14th President of the Republic India, Ram Nath Kovind served as Governor of Bihar from 2015 to 2017. He is also the Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from 1994 to 2006. On 25 July 2017, he took the oath as the 14th President of India. The 71 year old Ram Nath Kovind has attained some high profile assortment in the govt, as well as economics.
Early Life & Political Career:
On 1st October 1945 Ram Nath Kovind was born in Paraukh village in the Kanpur Dehat district, Uttar Pradesh. His father named Maikulal was a landless Kori. Maikulal ran a small shop to earn their livelihood and to support their family. His mother died of burns when their thatched dwelling caught fire, at that time Kovind was only five years old. To attend school, he walked 8 kms from his village to Khanpur village every day. He owns his Bachelor’s Degree from DAV College affiliated with Kanpur University in commerce and a LLB.

After Graduation, Kovind start preparing for civil services examination from Delhi. He qualified civil services examination in his third attempt but did not join and started practicing law. Thereafter in 1971 he become advocate with the bar council of Delhi. He also served the nation as personal assistant of Prime Minister of India Morarji Desai.
In 1991 he joined BJP and president of BJP dalit morcha between 1998 and 2002. He protests against some certain orders that had undesirable effect on SC/ST category workers. In 1994 he was elected as lok sabha MP from the state of Uttar Pradesh. Afterwards he appointed as Governor of Bihar by the President of India.

In 1971 Ram Nath Kovind becomes an advocate and served as Central Government Advocate in Delhi High Court from 1977 to 1979. In 1978 he became an advocate-on-record of the Supreme Court of India. He provides free legal aid to the oppressed sections of society, specially the women and the underprivileged, under the Free Legal Aid Society in New Delhi.
He gets into politics in 1991 by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He proves to be quite popular as a Rajya Sabha MP from the state of Uttar Pradesh and served for a total of 12 years till March 2006. Some government orders were later termed unacceptable and canceled through the means of access of three amendments to the Constitution.
He was also made the President of the All-India Koli Samaj. He served as national spokesperson of the party as well. He was very obsessive about providing better educational amenities to children in rural areas. He also visited Nepal, Thailand, Pakistan, Germany, France, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and USA on study tours. In 2002, he represented India at the UN and addressed the United Nations General Assembly.
