Explanation:

Let x = the youngest child. Each of the other four children will then be x+3, x+6, x+9, x+12.

We know that the sum of their ages is 50.

so, x+(x+3)+(x+6)+(x+9)+(x+12) = 50

x= 4

The youngest child is 4 years old.

Q2- The ages of Krish and Vaibhav are in the proportion of 3: 5. After 9 years, the proportion of their ages will be 3: 4. Then the current age of Vaibhav is:

Explanation:

Krish’s age = 3A and

Vaibhav’s age = 5A

{(3A + 9)/(5A + 9) }=3/4

=> 4 (3A + 9) = 3 (5A + 9)

=> A = 3

Therefore, Vaibhav’s age = 15 years.

Q3- 0.1 decates ago, Vijaya was quadrice as old as her daughter Simran. 0.6 decades hence, Vijaya’s age will beat her daughter’s age by 0.9 decades. The proportion of the current ages of Vijaya and Simran is: [0.1 Decates =1 Year; quadrice = 4 times]

Explanation:

Let, Ages of Vijaya and Simran – 1 year ago was 4A and A years correspondingly.

Then, [(4A + 1) + 6] – [(A + 1) + 6] = 9

3A = 9

X = 3

Needed Ratio = (4A + 1) : (A + 1) = 13 : 4

Q4- The sum of the present ages of a father and his son is 60 years. five years ago, father’s age was four times the age of the son. so now the son’s age will be:

Explanation:

Let the present ages of son and father be x and (60 -x) years respectively.

Then, (60 – x) – 5= 4(x – 5)

55 – x = 4x – 20

5x = 75

x = 15

Age of son is: 15 yrs

Q5- The ratio of the ages of Maala and Kala is 4: 3. The total of their ages is 2.8 decades. The proportion of their ages after 0.8 decades will be [1 Decade = 10 years]

Explanation:

Let, Maala’s age = 4A and Kala’s age = 3A

Then 4A + 3A = 28

A = 4

Maala’s age = 16 years

And Kala’s age = 12 years

Proportion of their ages after 8 is = (16 + 8) : (12 + 8)

= 24: 20

= 6: 5

Q6- A person’s present age is two-fifth of the age of his mother. After 8 years, he will be one-half of the age of his mother. How old is the mother at present?

Explanation:

Let the mother’s present age be x years.

Then, the person’s present age = (2/5)*x years.

Therefore, (2/5)*x+8= (1/2)*(x+8)

x = 40.

Mother’s present age: 40 yrs

Q7- The total age of A and B is 12 years more than the total age of B and C. C is how many years younger than A ?

Q8- A man is 24 years older than his son. In two years, his age will be twice the age of his son. The present age of his son is

Explanation:

Let the son’s present age be x years. Then, man’s present age = (x + 24) years

=> (x + 24) + 2 = 2(x + 2)

=> x + 26 = 2x + 4

So, x = 22

Q9-Total of the ages of A, B ahd C at present is 90 years. Ten years ago, the ratio of their ages was 1: 2: 3. What is the age of B at present?

Explanation:

Let their ages 10 years ago is x, 2x and 3x years.

10 + 2x + 10 + 3x + 10 = 90 hence x= 10

B’s present age = (2x + 10) =30 years

Q10- Sushil was thrice as old as Snehal 6 years back. Sushil will be times as old as Snehal 6 years hence. How old is Snehal today.

Explanation:

Let Snehals age 6 years back = x.

Then, Sushils age 6 years back = 3x.

(5/3) * (X + 6 + 6) = (3X + 6 + 6)

So 5(x+ 12) = 3(3x+ 12),

so x=6.

Snehal Age = (x+ 6) years = 12 years

Q11- Q is as much younger than R as he is older than T. If the sum of the ages of R and T is 50 years, what is definitely the difference between R and Q’s age?

R – Q = Q – T

(R + T) = 2Q

Now given that, (R + T) = 50

So, 50 = 2Q and therefore Q = 25.

=> 2x = 63

=> x = 31.5

So Sachin age is 31.5 – 7 = 24.5

11/P = B-6

(11/P) + 6 = B
