Railway Recruitment Board is authorized to appoint best candidates for RRB Non-Technical Vacancies. So, Railway NTPC Selection Procedure is divided in four stages which include:

  • First stage computer based test
  • Second stage computer based test
  • Typing Skill Test/Aptitude Test
  • Document Verification

RRB Selection Procedure:

First Stage Computer Based Test (CBT):

Applicants have to go through the online test or written exam. In this exam, total 100 objective type questions will be asked. For every wrong response there will be a penalty also. Applicants who belongs to unreserved category they have to score at least 60 per cent marks to qualify the written exam. The candidates belonging to reserved category are required to score at least 50 per cent marks. Mainly, the questions will be asked in this exam from the subject as framed below:

  • General Mathematics
  • General Knowledge
  • General Intelligence
  • General Science

RRB NTPC Mains Examination:

Candidates who had qualified RRB NTPC 01st Stage Exam they have to appear in RRB Mains Exam. RRB NTPC Second Stage Examination is based on 10th class in order to evaluate the General Knowledge/Awareness/Mathematics /Reasoning etc. This exam is also conducted through online mode. Only those applicants can appear in further selection procedure they will be qualified both stages of examination.

Typing Skill Test:

Railway Recruitment Board is organized this test to examine the skills of applicants in the concerned trade. Aspirants are required to qualify this stage also to avail jobs in RRB. Typing Skill Test will be qualifying in nature. So, the marks of this test will not be considered in final merit list. Applicants should have 300 words at the minimum speed of 30 w.p.m. in English or 250 words at 25 w.p.m. in Hindi on computer within 10 minutes to qualify in the test. Aspirants have to give this test in the language as opted at the time of submission of online application form. If you are desirous to secure career in railway sector then you are advised to start your preparation for all stages.

Aptitude Test:

Railway Recruitment Board is also conduct aptitude test for some posts. Contenders who want to apply for Assistant Station Master (ASM) and Traffic Assistant they have to go through the Aptitude Test. This test will be organized in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and comprise of several test batteries. So, you need to start your preparation accordingly. The ratio of 2nd stage CBT marks and Aptitude Test marks shall be 70:30.

Document Verification:

Candidates who had successfully qualified the all above mentioned stages they will be called for documents verification. In this round, appliers have to produce all relevant documents and testimonials. The list of documents as framed below:

  • Diploma/ Degree Certificate
  • Caste Certificate
  • Income Certificate for Waiving Examination Fee
  • Educational Qualification Certificate
  • Medical Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PWD)
  • NOC from serving employees/ Ex-Servicemen
  • Minority declaration on Non-judicial Stamp Paper

Medical Examination:

Railway Recruitment Board organizes Medical Examination round only for shortlisted aspirants. It is supervised by the Railway Administration with a view to make sure that the appliers are medically fit to carry out the duties and Visual Acuity Standard. Mentioned below visual standards may vary according to posts.

Visual Standards-Distance Vision6/9, 6/9 with or without glasses (Power of lenses not to exceed 2D).
Near VisionSn 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses and should pass test for Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision & Night Vision.

Final Merit List:
