Hello, I am Vikas Kumar and I am going to sharing my SBI Clerk Interview Experience. SBI clerical interview is the toughest among all three recruitment stage. Types of questions asked by interviewer are quite tricky, so interviewee has to answer very smartly and confidently.

Vikas Kumar SBI Clerk Interview Experience

Heyyy……….. Here is Vikas Kumar who has been selected as clerk in SBI after successfully qualifying Prelims, Mains and interview. I am happy to share my SBI clerical interview experience, because it is amazing interview for me and I have acquired lot of information from this interview.

Few years back, after qualifying pre and mains examination I was recommended IBPS Clerk interview. As every individual even I was nervous in beginning.

But believe me it was quite interesting and inspiring. Nervousness is obvious but my first opinion is not to worry but don’t let your nervousness over confidence all you need to do is to stay positive.

If you answer the questions confidently and facts understanding the facts and motive of interviewer you will also be able to crack the interview. May be you will get inspired from my experience, thus I am sharing my views here …. have a look!!

Here is my brief introduction

Name:  Vikas Kumar

Venue: SBI Zonal Business Office, Ludhiana

Profession: B.Tech (ECE)

Time: 12:00 PM, Panel-1

I reached at the venue around 11:30 AM. They called me at sharp 12:00 PM however at that point morning shift interview were happening. They finished at around 2:00 PM then the panel went for his or her lunch. They came back at 2:35 then our document verification started.

They were terribly strict in verifying the documents (3-4 Candidates were placed on hold as their signatures weren’t matching, in a while they were allowed taking and verifying their application forms and different documents. My documents got verified at around 4:00 PM and that I was sixteenth within the queue.

Documents Must be carried

  • Completely filled Bio-Data form along with 4 copies of it
  • 10th Marksheet & Certificate
  • 12th Marksheet & Certificate
  • Graduation Marksheets & Certificate
  • Caste Certificate if applicable
  • 2 Character Certificates (One by school/college & One by any gazetted officer)
  • One Identity proof (Voter ID, DL, PAN Card or Aadhar Card)
  • Any additional documents if you want to attach (Residence Certificate, Previous Job Experience certificate etc.)

I entered the interview area at around 5:30 PM. There were five people in the panel (4M, 1F). I wished them with smile on my face Good Evening sir… They wished and asked me to sit down. I thanked them while taking my seat.

Then one of them asked me that which language. I said Hindi. After that interview started and interviewer began to ask question are as follows-

M 1: What’s your Good Name?

Me: My good name is Vikas Kumar.

M 2: How are you?

Me: In am Fine sir…

M 2: They asked some questions about my family?

Me: I answered we are 5 members, (Father, Mother, Two sisters and Me) and later in told them about my father / Mother profession.

After this interviewer moved towards asking bank related Questions –

M 1: Why do you want to join SBI? Give any reasons.

Me: I want to join SBI as a result of SBI is that the largest banking service supplier within the country. It is not only bank however it’s the faith of common people. Anyone feel proud by associating with this brand.

F: How is SBI website?

Me: I answered website of SBI is little confusing in fact we had a small argument on this. After the argument I said sorry and told them what my view was. On this answer, Mam said……don’t feel sorry it was my view.

M 3: What’s the distinction between trail balance & balance sheet?

Me: Trail balance is simply a rough balance created to visualize for any clerical mistake however a record reveals the company`s position in money aspects

M 3: What is SLR & CRR? How SLR differs from CRR?

Me: SLR is statutory liquidity ratio that’s banks should maintain of their balances as gold or securities.

Some of the general knowledge questions asked by interviewer at the time of SBI Clerk Interview-

M1: When was Bangladesh formed?

Me: I was really confused at that point between 1965 or 1971… thus I told her the story behind Bangladesh formation and surrender of Pakistani forces on sixteenth December… and I said that I’m confused between sixty five or seventy one

M 1: Its ok!! It’s 1971

Me: Thanks Mam.

M 3: Why West Bengal is in news these days?

Me: I had read about this (Sharda Chitfund fraud) however not keep in mind at that could point therefore apologized for this.

M 1: They asked me about 5 September such as famous for what and what happened on this day?

Me: I replied… it is famous as Teachers Day in India and Swami Radhakrishnan which was 2nd president of India was born on this day.

M 3: Tell me any of your famed quotation.

Me: Told a quotation regarding computers as I discussed computers in my hobby.

M 2: You have studied physics, thus tell me regarding any one of the physics’s law. (Asked in punjabi language as I discussed Punjabi in my BioData form)

Me: I was explained Gauss’ Law in Punjabi. That’s the electrical flux through a closed surface is proportional to the algebraic sum of electric charges contained inside that closed surface; in differential kind div E = rho, where rho is the charge density.

M 4: At last question Virat, rate us as an interviewer on the scale of 1 to 10?

Me: First of all, I asked I am not eligible to judge you all but thank you sirs and mam for giving me this golden opportunity. I just want to say that when I entered a room I was feeling nervous but now, I am feeling relaxed. It was awesome experience for me.

At the end they said thank you, you can go now. Therefore I greeted all of them another time and walked out of the interview room. The interview went for regarding 8-10 minutes.

Although I attempted to stay myself calm, I was a little bit nervous at the time of Interview because it was my 1st Interview for any govt. job. I believe this can be a negative issue throughout my whole interview.

Anyways while I was leaving the room, M1 said with a smile on his face, “Well done, Vikas.” I thanked him, wished all of them a decent Day and walked out.

I’m still confused what M1 meant by that? Is that sensible issue or is that a regular issue as they already wished me good luck while the interview was over.
