a) Preliminary Interviews (Screening interview)/Application Screening:

Organization determines candidates’ skills, academic and family background, hobbies and interests in this step. Screening interview is not normally conducted in various examinations process. b) Written Examination:

Mostly every organization or university conduct written exam to select student or job aspirant for giving admission or for recruitment in various post. Candidates who are going to appear in written exam must have complete knowledge of syllabus that is given by the particular institute or company. Candidates should prepare for written examination according to syllabus and also practicing previous year examination papers or sample papers. Written examination is almost a multiple Objective Type Questions. There are also negative marks in the examination mostly preferred is ¼. c) Group Discussion:

Group Discussion is a methodology or we can call GD an interview process or group activity. It is used as best tool to select prospective applicants in comparative perspective. Group Discussion may be used by an interviewer at an organization, colleges or even at different types of management competitions.

Group Discussion is criteria to determine person for his/her personality traits which includes Communication skills, Interpersonal Skills, Leadership Skills, Motivational Skills, Team Building Skills, Different Thinking, idea, boldness, Ability to think on ones feet and others. To accomplish your success in group discussion you must be able to communicate well with others, with listening skills and understand things that are presently discuss in group. some tips and suggestions that will help you prepare well for group discussion are:

  • When speaking in a GD, your job is to articulate your point of view in a way that is easy for others to comprehend
  • Train yourself to be a good listener. Develop the patience to listen attentively.

d) Personal Interview: 

One to one interaction between interviewer and potential candidate is called an interview. It is used to check the ability and confidence level of the candidate and also to know that candidate is it suitable for that job or not. These interviews consume time as well as money both and sometimes interviews may be partial. Through interview, company wants to know the whole information of candidate. There are various types of interviews such as Informal, Conversational interview, General interview guide approach, Standardized, open-ended interview and Closed, fixed-response interview.
