• SSB stands for Sashastra Seema Bal & it is one of India’s Central Armed Police Forces.
• It is presently under the administrative control of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India.
• The Special Service Bureau (also known as SSB) was set up in early 20 December 1963
• From Cabinet, the SSB was reassigned to Ministry of Home Affairs and allocated the duties of manning the Nepal and Bhutan borders.
