SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination is organized every year by Staff Selection Commission for the appointment of assistant post in various department, inspector of income tax/ central excise/ preventive officer/ examiner/ Post/ narcotics, CBI SI, Divisional accountant, statistical Investigator Grade II. SSC CGL Selection Procedure

Staff Selection Commission CGL Tier 1:

  • It is a Preliminary Examination which is conducted for all students who want to work as assistant in various departments in Staff Selection Commission.
  • It is organize to examine the large no. of applicant’s skills and basic knowledge. It is an objective type written examination.
  • Commission fixes different cut off for different categories in Tier 1.
  • Only those participants who will qualify tier 1 Exam with minimum cut off marks will be able to get involved in tier 2 exam.

Staff Selection Commission CGL Tier 2:

  • After appearing in tier 1 exam, a tier 2 examination is conducted and this is known as Mains Examinations.
  • Question of this paper is also Objective Type. For this exam commission also fixes minimum cut off and candidates who secure marks within that cut off can apply for Tier 3.

SSC CGL Tier 3 Details
:

Aspirants, who are successfully, qualified (Combined Graduate Level Exam) tier 1 and tier 2 will undergo a tier 3 process that is Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test, and Document verification followed by the descriptive test. Candidates who qualify this round will be recruited for assistant post in different departments. SSC CGL Tier 1 Selection Process is conducted just only the screening of list of applicants but final merit list is prepared after combining marks of tier 1 and tier 2. Then descriptive test will organize for selected candidates if applicable.

After successful completion of each tier / Staff Selection Commission CGL Exam, SSC will announce the all India merit list against each category of post for those candidates who are qualifying Combined Graduate Level Examination / SSC CGL Recruitment Exam. Then Shortlisted successor will be appointed based on their merit. After some time Staff Selection Commission will send offer letter to selected candidates for appointment in concerned department.

SSC CGL Computer Proficiency Test (CPT):

Those aspirants who are applying for Assistant in CSS only have to appear Computer Proficiency Test. This test will consist of Word Processing, Spread Sheet and Generation of Slides.

SSC CGL Skill Test:

Skill test will be for those who are applying for Tax Assistant Posts in Central Excise and income Tax.

Data Entry Speed Test: This test will be for those who are applying for Data Entry Operator. 8000 Key Depression per hour on Computer and 2000 key depressions for in 15 minutes.

Physical Test will be organized for those who are applying for Central and excised inspector, examiner, preventive officer, Inspector and SI in CBn.

SSC CGL Merit List and Appointments:

After the Written Examination and Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test/ PST/ Physical Test/ Document verification organization releases All India Merit List according to category on basis of rules of organization such as mentioned below.

  • Candidates choose preferences for the different post in application form. Once applicant will choose a post he/ she will not be applicable for other post in any circumstances.
  • Aspirants who belong to SC, ST, OBC and PH category and selected on their own merit without relaxed standards along with other applicants of different categories will not be shifted against the reserved part of available vacancies.
  • Those physical handicap candidates who will qualify the examination under General standards can be recruited against an unreserved vacancy.
  • An Ex-Serviceman or candidates with Physical disabilities who qualifies exam on the basis of relaxed standards can be recruited against reserved vacancies and not against general vacancies.
  • Those who qualifies exam have no right of appointment until government is satisfied after relevant enquiry.
