UGC NET Syllabus 2014 with Paper Pattern has been disclosed by University Grants Commission (UGC). December Entrance Exam Schedule has updated now. Applicants can check the paper pattern on this page. 

UGC NET conducts this test twice in a year that is June and December month. This exam is held by UGC to examine the eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Assistant Professor.

UGC NET Entrance Exam Syllabus

Paper-I-

In this paper teaching/research aptitude related questions are given. Questions are asked as following:

 In this exam total 60 questions are given candidates need to solve only 50 out of 60.

Paper-II-

  • In this paper you have to solve the questions based on the subject you have chosen.
  • Each question will be of 2 marks. Total 50 questions will ask to solve.

Paper III-

  • This paper will consist of 75 objective types. Each question will be of 2 marks.
  • All questions of Paper-II and Paper-III are compulsory to solve.

 Duration of Exam

The Test will consist of 03 papers and there will be only objective type questions (MCQ):

Session Paper Marks Number of Question Duration
First I 100 60 out of which 50 question to be attempted 1¼ hours (09.30 a.m. to 10.45 a.m.)
First II 100 50 questions all are compulsory 1¼ hours (10.45 a.m. to 12.00 noon)
Second III 150 75 questions all are compulsory 2½ hours (01.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.)
