UGC NET is a National Level test which is helpful for getting job in lecturer-ship post in reputed universities and may also seek admissions for PhD Programs in Net Coordinating Universities. UGC NET New Exam Pattern
CBSE UGC NET 2018 Exam Pattern:
Applicants who will appear in this examination they need to follow the UGC NET Paper Pattern which are indicated below:-
- According to pattern of UGC net exam, Exam will be complete in the three phases.
- There will be only Objective Type Question in all the exam papers.
- There is no negative marking for the wrong answer.

For Person with Disability:
- Exam pattern of UGC net 2018 consist:
- Disable applicants will get 30 minutes extra time for Paper I and paper II.
- Disable candidates will get 45 minutes compensatory time for paper IV.
- Those candidates who are not in a position to write in their hands, they may request in advance (at least one week before the date of UGC-NET) in writing by the coordinator of the Net Coordinating Institution.

This paper will be of general ability test intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the applicant. 60 multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which the candidate are required to give answer of 50 Questions. In case applicants attempted more than 50 questions, the first 50 questions attempted will be evaluated.
This paper will have 50 objective type questions and Each question will carry 2 marks
- This paper consists of 75 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.
- All questions of Paper-II and Paper-III will be compulsory, covering entire syllabus (including all electives, without options).

Passing marks for University Grants Commission NET Exam 2018:

Contenders are required to obtain following minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III as given below:
Step I: Minimum marks to be obtained in NET for considering a contender for the award of JRF and eligibility for Assistant Professor.
Step II: Amongst those candidates who have cleared step I, a merit list will be prepared subject-wise and category-wise using the aggregate marks of all the 3 papers secured by such candidates.
Step III: Top 15% candidates (for each subject and category), from the merit list mentioned under step II, will be declared NET qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only.
Step IV: A separate merit list for the award of JRF will be prepared from amongst the NET qualified candidates figuring in the merit list prepared under step III.

Cut Off Procedure for UGC NET Exam
Candidates who have cleared step I, a merit list will be prepared subject-wise and category-wise using the aggregate marks of all the three papers secured by such candidates
Top 15% candidates (for each subject and category), from the merit list mentioned under step II, will be declared NET qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only.
A separate merit list for the award of JRF will be prepared from amongst the NET qualified candidates figuring in the merit list prepared under step III.

Career Options after Qualifying UGC National Eligibility Test 2018
Aspirants who will crack the NET exam, they will eligible to apply for the post of Lecturer ship post. Final selection of the applicants will be based on interview that will be conducted by the selection committee of the organization. If any applicant has interest in research program can also purse Junior Research Fellowship from the Coordinating Institutes of NET. The selection procedure of students for award of JRF will depend on the student’s performance in Test.
