How to Prepare for Written Examination

Eligibility Criteria:

The candidate applying for the exam, should be a citizen of India. The candidates should possess a degree from any of Indian universities or an equivalent qualification from any recognized university.

No. of Attempts:

  • General category candidates and the OBC candidates that fall under Creamy Layer can make six attempts for the exam.
  • OBC category candidates can make nine attempts.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ ST category can make any number of attempts.

Physical Standards:

Aspirants should be physically fit according to the physical standard for appearing in the UPSC civil services examination.
