Weight age of 20 Marks has been added in Class IX and Class X for Assessing Speaking and Listening Skills (ASL) in the course of English as per the Curriculum document 2015.

The Assessment of Speaking and Listening (ASL) carries 20 marks in each Summative Assessment i.e. I and II. Now the Written paper will be 70+20= 90 marks for both the subject.
In the Curriculum 2014 a guideline which has been uploaded on 12th September 2012 said that only 10 marks will be added in a written paper of 80 marks for both classes IX and X. These 10 marks are to conduct the Assessment of Speaking and Listening (ASL) but for the curriculum 2015 it has been changed.
Under section D of both English Language and Literature, English Communicative in the modified syllabus for both Annexure I and II in class X with Values based question is attached with this notification.

For all the CBSE schools has to be maintain the audio recording files of the speaking Assessment of student to be sent to the CBSE along with the Assessment marks list of Speaking and Listening and to make 90 marks 10 marks should be added in the written exams for each Summative Assessment.
