UPSC IES Notification was supposed to be released on 25-03-2020 but now Union Public Service Commission has postponed IES/ISS Exam 2020 Registration due to the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19). New dates of releasing the notification will be intimated till further notice.

  • A subject of Nepal; or

Minimum Educational Qualifications for UPSC IES/ISS exam 2020:

For Indian Economic Service:

To apply for Indian Economic Service Exam Notification, individuals must have obtained a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics / Applied Economics / Business Economics / Econometrics from a University incorporated by of an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India.

For Indian Statistical Service:

Candidates having Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics / Mathematical Statistics / Applied Statistics as one of the subject or a Master’s degree in Statistics / Mathematical Statistics / Applied Statistics from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India are eligible to apply for Indian Statistical Service Exam.

Age Limit for UPSC IES/ISS Exam 2020:

Applicants must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1988 and not later than 1st August, 1997 to apply for Indian Economic Service Exam.

Age Relaxations:

  • SC/ST category candidates: 5 years.
  • OBC category: 3 years
  • 5 years, if a candidate has ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from the 01st Jan. 1981 to the 31st Dec. 1990;
  • 3 years, in the case of Defence Services Personnel disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country
  • 5 years, in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service.
  • 10 years, in the case of blind, deaf-mute and orthopedically disabled persons

Physical Standards:

Aspirants must be physically fit according to physical standard for admission to Indian Economic Service/ Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2020.

Charges to pay for Indian Economic Service Exam:

  • Contenders are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- to apply for UPSC IES/ISS Exam 2020
  • Female aspirants and those contenders who belong to ST/SC/PH candidates are not required to pay any fee for Indian Economic Service Exam 2020.
  • No fee exemption is, however, available to OBC category and they are required to pay the full prescribed fee.
  • Indian Economic Service Exam Fee should be submitted either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or
  • By using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur / State Bank of Hyderabad / State Bank of Mysore / State Bank of Patiala/ State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa / Master Credit / Debit Card.

Procedure to Apply for Indian Economic Service Exam Notification:

  • Participants are required to apply online only by using the Official website of organization that is
  • Then, press “Online Application for various examination of UPSC” tab.
  • Follow “Indian Statistical Service Examination” or “Indian Economic Service Examination” link and press on “Hit here for PART – I”
  • Aspirants will be required to complete the Indian Economic Service Online Application Form containing two stages viz. Part-I and Part-II as per the instructions available in the above mentioned site through drop down menu.
  • Then attaches attested copies of all relevant testimonials in support of education, caste.
  • Must upload scanned photograph and signature duly scanned in the .jpg format in such a manner that each file should not exceed 40 KB each and must not be less than 3 KB in size for the photograph
  • After filling Indian Economic Service Exam form in correct manner, recheck at once.
  • Correct UPSC ISS Application Form, if required.
  • Submit UPSC IES Application Form within given time.
  • At last, take a photo copy of Indian Economic Service Exam application form for future use.
