A national park is a group of one or more ecosystems that are protected from human access. Here, special scientific research is done to conserve plants, trees, and many organisms and their habitats. The boundaries of the national park are determined under Indian law.

All the national parks of India are IUCN The second category includes protected areas. Hale National Park, the first national park in India, was established in the year 1936, at present the park is known as Jim Corbett National Park. Till 1970 there were only 5 national parks in India.

Projects like Wildlife Protection Act and Project Tiger, passed in the year 1972 were implemented properly for the protection of wildlife. As a result, today a total of 104 national parks have been established in India, whose total area is about 1.2% of the territory of India.

According to the Indian Ministry of Environment and Forests, those areas fall under the category of National Parks, which have their own separate importance in terms of ecology, floral and zoology so that wildlife and nature can be conserved in a good way.
