ITBP full form

It is one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces of India, raised under the CRPF Act on 24 October 1962, in the wake of the Sino-Indian War of 1962. The headquarters of ITBP is situated in New Delhi, India.
The motto of ITBP is Shaurya, Dridata, Karm Nishtha that translates to Valor, Determination and Devotion to duty in English. ITBP was deploying with the purpose to defend the Border of India with Tibet. Indo-Tibetan Border Police First Head was the designated Inspector General, Balbir Singh, previously a police officer belonging to the Intelligence Bureau.

Earlier, ITBP, which started with 4 battalions, has extended to a force of 60 battalions along with 15 sectors and a sanctioned strength of 89,432 with 15 frontiers since the reorganization in the year of 1978. Indo-Tibetan Border Police is trained in civil medical camps, disaster management, and nuclear, biological and chemical disasters. Two battalions of Indo-Tibetan Border Police are deployed in the National Disaster Response Force.

Role/ Work of ITBP:
ITBP is a multi-dimensional force which primarily has 5 functions:
- Vigil on the northern borders, recognition and prevention of border violations, promotion of the sense of security among the local populace.
- Check illegal immigration as well as trans-border smuggling.
- Grant security to aware installations and vulnerable VIPs
- Re-establish and protect order in any area in the event of a disturbance.
- To preserve calm/ peace.

Tasks of ITBP in Hindi:
- सीमाओं के साथ सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए उत्तरी सीमाओं पर गश्त और रखवाली
- सीमा उल्लंघन का पता लगाना और उसकी रोकथाम करना
- सीमा से सटे गांवों के लोगों में सुरक्षा की भावना को बढ़ावा देना
- सीमा और अन्य अपराधों के माध्यम से अवैध आव्रजन, तस्करी की जाँच करना
- शासित भवनों, स्थापना, बैंकों, जैसे राष्ट्रपति भवन, सिक्किम के रुमटेक मठ, नई दिल्ली की तिहाड़ जेल, आदि को सुरक्षा प्रदान करना।
- किसी क्षेत्र में गड़बड़ी की घटना के दौरान शांति और व्यवस्था बहाल करना
- यह सीमा के पास के दूरदराज के इलाकों में और आतंकवादी प्रभावित क्षेत्रों में रहने वाले नागरिकों के लिए बड़ी संख्या में चिकित्सा कार्यक्रम भी आयोजित करता है
- प्राकृतिक आपदाओं जैसे बाढ़, भूकंप, भूस्खलन, आदि के दौरान बचाव और राहत कार्यों को अंजाम देना।

Every year, Union Public Service Commission conducts the exams for the engagement of Assistant Commandant in Indo-Tibetan Border Police. ITBP Recruitment Notification is provided on the official website of ITBP yearly. Number of vacancies, Exam Pattern, posts and other relevant details about the post is given in the official notification.
ITBP Recruitment Process comprises well-defined process that comprises three stages, which are as follows:
