CBSE का फुल फॉर्म “Central Board of Secondary Education” है। हिंदी में सीबीएसई का फुल फॉर्म केन्द्रीय माध्यमिक शिक्षा बोर्ड है। केन्द्रीय माध्यमिक शिक्षा बोर्ड (CBSE) भारत में सार्वजनिक और निजी स्कूलों के लिए राष्ट्रीय स्तर का शिक्षा बोर्ड है।
CBSE एक शिक्षा बोर्ड है, जो भारत सरकार के तहत सार्वजनिक और निजी स्कूलों से सबंधित है। CBSE Board का Official Language हिन्दी तथा English दोनों है। CBSE उन स्कूलों को Affiliation करता है। जो कि Central Government of India द्वारा मान्यता प्राप्त हो।
History of CBSE
- The government of India founded a co-operative board named “Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Rajputana”.
- It was started before the independence of India in the year 1929. This board covered the regions of Ajmer, Merwara, Gwalior, and central India.
- At that time, it was bound to only Ajmer, Vindhya Pradesh, and Bhopal.
- In 1952 the government named this board “Central Board of Secondary Education” which is the present-day CBSE.
- The Board was reconstituted on 1st July, 1962 so as to make its services available to students and various educational institutions in the entire country.

CBSE Pass Criteria
The CBSE Pass Criteria is very simple for 10th or 12th board examination
10th-
- Students must score at least 33% in Theory and Practical subjects to pass the CBSE Class X examination.
12th-
- To pass 12th in CBSE Board, students are required to score at least 33% marks in Theory and Practical subjects.
