For taking admission into MBA at Calcutta University, candidates should have a UG degree in Engineering/ Medical/ Professional Studies or equivalent from any recognized university.

Admission to MBA program at Calcutta University is done on the basis of merit secured in CAT/ MAT/ JEMAT score followed by GD/ PI & Academic Performance.

- Admission to BA (General)/ B.Sc (General)/ BA (Hons.)/ B.Sc (Hons.)/ B.Com is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination
- Admission to BA.LLB is done on the basis of an Entrance Test conducted by the university
Calcutta University PG Selection Criteria:
- Admission to M.Sc at CU will be done on the basis of merit secured in an Entrance Test
- Admission to MA / (MA/M.Sc) / M.Com at CU will be done on the basis of merit in qualifying examination
- Admission to MA / M.Sc in Human Rights at CU will be done on the basis of performance in an Written Test
- Admission into M.Ed is based on the marks in 10+2 and Graduation and Entrance Test conducted by the university
- Admission into LL.M. / M.Sc (Ag.) is based on the merit secured in an Entrance Test conducted by the university
- Admission into Integrated M.Li.Sc is based on the academic merit followed by an Admission Test
- Admission into MLIS / MA (Museology) is done 60% seats through merit for CU candidates and 40% seats through admission test for Non-CU candidates
