Wait is over now!!! Finally the Union Public Service Commission has released the IAS Application Form on the official website i.e.  www.upsc.gov.in. Candidates willing to apply for UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam can fill up the online application form now.

According to the IAS Notification 2018, the online applications will be accepted till 06-03-2018. Further the IAS pre examination will be held on 03-06-2018. To fill up the application form for IAS Civil Service Exam, candidates may also follow the instructions available below.

To get recruited in well-known department under the UPSC, candidates are required to qualify all the levels of recruitment process. Firstly interested candidates need to appear for preliminary examination and then the qualified candidates are required to appear for mains.

IAS Eligibility Criteria:

To fill up the Civil Services Online Application Form candidates need to complete the following Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality:

(1) For the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India.

(2) For other services, a candidate must be either:—

(a) a citizen of India, or

(b) a subject of Nepal, or

(c) a subject of Bhutan, or

(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

  • Candidates who are desire to filling IAS Application Form 2018 must hold a Graduation degree of any of Universities.
  • Candidates appearing for their final year degree exam are also eligible to apply for IAS 2018 and filling up IAS Application Form Online.
  • Candidates with professional and technical qualifications are able TO FILL UP THE IAS Application Form 2018.
  • Candidates who have passed final year of MBBS exam but are yet to complete internship can apply for IAS Prelim Exam.

How Much: Time Required to Prepare for IAS

Application Fee Details:

  • Candidates who are going to apply for IA Examination and want to fill up the IAS Online application form have to pay and amount of Rs.100 as IAS Application Form Fees Fee will be deposited through any branch of SBI bank by doing cash payment or by using online banking facility (Net banking / Visa / Master / Credit / Debit Card).
  • SC/ST Candidates are exempted from paying the amount of application fees

IAS Selection Process:

Selection of the candidates for the post of Indian Administrative Services will be based on the performance in Preliminary (Objective Type Question Paper) and main exam (Written and interview).

Scheme of CS (Preliminary) Examination:

  • Preliminary Examination consists of two papers of objective type (multiple-choice questions) carrying a maximum of 400 marks.

How to fill IAS Application Form?

Candidates willing to apply for IAS Preliminary Examination must follow the steps as structured below, to fill IAS Application Form.

  • First of all log on to the official website i.e.upsconline.nic.in
  • After reaching the homepage select and hit on “ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSC” link
  • A new page will come out along with a box having details about the examination and links as:

  • Select and hit on “Hit here for Part 1 Registration” link

Part 1 Registration:

  • A new page will come out along with all the instructions regarding the UPSC IAS Application Form
  • Read out all the instructions and then go to:

  • Hit on Yes tab and then you will be redirected to a new page having the IAS Application Form For Prelims Exam
  • Fill up the online application form and then hit on Continue tab
  • Once the application form is submitted successfully you will receive a registration ID and password
  • Keep the registration ID safe and move towards the next step i.e. Part 2 Registration

PART 2 Registration

  • Go back to the previous page and then you will receive a pop up window as:

  • Enter the registration ID and Date of Birth
  • Confirm the random image and then hit on submit tab
  • As a result a new pager will come outalong with queries regarding uploading of documents and payment of application fees
  • The pat 2 of application form includes filling up Payment details (except for fee exempted candidates), selection of examination centre, uploading of Photograph and Signature and agreeing to declaration.
  • Complete all the details and then recheck the details you have entered
  • Finally hit on the Final Submission tab
  • At last take a print out of the filled up IAS Prelims Exam Application Form and keep itsafe for further usage

Guidelines regarding uploading of signature and photograph:

  • Scanned photograph should be in JPG format. The digital size of file must be less than 40 kb and greater than 3 kb and resolution 140 pixel height by 110 pixel width and Bit Depth of image file should be 24 bit.
  • Then upload your scanned signature in JPG format. The digital size of each file must be less than 40 kb and greater than 1 kb and resolution 110 pixel height by 140 pixel width and Bit Depth of image file should be 24 bit.
