CTET Eligibility Criteria includes age limit, educational qualification details and other significant information. Central Teacher Eligibility Test Eligibility is different for Paper 1 as well as Paper 2.

According to CTET Eligibility 2022 Criteria, the basic requirement to appear in CTET Exam is 50% aggregate marks in senior secondary or graduation with a relevant teacher training program. CBSE will conduct CTET Exam to hire eligible candidates for appointment as a teacher in the government schools.

Post Eligibility for CTET 2022
Primary Teacher Should have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 45 percent aggregate marks

Should complete the prescribed teacher training programs/teacher education course

Upper Primary Should have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 45 percent aggregate marks.

Should complete the prescribed teacher training programmes/ teacher education course

Schools where CTET eligibility is applicable

  • Central Government schools and schools under the administrative control of UT’s of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi.
  • Schools owned and managed by the State Government/ local bodies and aided schools.
  • Schools affiliated with CBSE.
  • Unaided private schools.

CTET Eligibility Criteria:

In order to fill CTET 2022 Application Form candidates need to fulfill the following requirements:

CTET 2022 Eligibility For Classes I-V (Primary Stage)

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Eligibility Criteria For CTET For Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage)

  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed. OR
  • Graduation with at least 50%marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

CTET Age Limit 2022

CTET Minimum Age Limit for the applying candidates must be 18 Years and there is no restriction on CTET Maximum Age Limit.

Important Points

  • SC/ ST/ OBC/ Differently able category candidates will get 5% Relaxation in qualifying marks.
  • A Diploma/Degree course in teacher education must be recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), while Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.ED (Special Education), should be recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
  • Candidates having D.Ed (Special Education) qualification have to undergo 6 months Special Programme in Elementary Education, recognized by NCTE. This training would be held after the appointment.
