The Gramin Dak Sevak includes various posts and is given various multiple tasks in the postal department. The function of a Branch Post Master (BPM) is to coordinate with the team and run the branch of Gramin Dak Seva. The Mail Deliverer (MD) focuses on inspiring the villagers to open the savings accounts in the respective branch. They also collect mails from the head office and deliver the same to the respective branch.

Mail Carrier (MC) has to carry the mail from the branch and deliver the same within the village/area. Various functions of Gramin Dak Sevak Packers include opening the mailbag and sorting the mails accordingly and pack the mails that are to be sent to the other branches and offices.
