Q- What is IIT Madras Eligibility Criteria 2022?
Eligibility for those who cleared class 12 or equivalent in 2020 or earlier:
- The candidate must have studied Mathematics and English in class 10.
- They should have cleared class 12 or equivalent in 2019 or earlier. View list of accepted class 12 equivalents.
No additional eligibility required to apply for the qualifier process or join the foundational courses after clearing the qualifying exam.
Eligibility for those who cleared class 12 or equivalent in 2021 or 2022:
- The candidate must have studied Mathematics and English in class 10.
- They should have cleared class 12 or equivalent in 2021 or 2022. View list of accepted class 12 equivalents.
- The candidate should be:
- currently enrolled / previously enrolled in any Bachelor’s Degree program in campus mode OR
- completed 1 year (campus mode only) diploma OR
- completed CA Inter
Note that applicants who cleared class 12 or equivalent in 2021 or 2022 may apply for the qualifier process with eligibility criteria 1 & 2 alone, but will be required to fulfil criterion 3 to join the foundational courses after clearing the qualifying exam.

Q- What is IIT Madras Admission Procedure?
- All applicants will have to go through a Qualifier Process, like a trial month, wherein they will get access to 4 weeks of content for the four foundational level courses – English I, Mathematics for Data Science I, Statistics for Data Science I and Computational Thinking.
- Video content of 2 – 3 hours duration will be released for each course on a weekly basis.
- Along with the content, the first three weeks will also include an assignment for each course that need to be completed and submitted online within the given deadline.
- Average assignment score in each course will be calculated. Only those who get minimum required average assignment scores in all four courses will be allowed to write the Qualifier Exam.

Q- How to Fill IIT Madras Online Application Form?
- Logon to official website that is www.iitm.ac.in.
- Use the link Create new account, User Login button on the first page to create your login.
- A confirmation email will be sent to your address. Use the link in that email to confirm your login and to create your password to fill IIT Madras Registration Form.
- Once you are logged in, you can see the online application form under the tab My Application Summary.
- There are 2 forms that you need to fill IIT Madras Application Form.
- Form linked as Edit Profile allows you to complete the details that appear in the block titled Personal Details. You can edit this page any number of times using the same link.
- Form linked as Edit Academic details allows you to complete the details that appear in the block titled Academic details. You can edit this page any number of times using the same link.
- Upload your passport size photograph along with IIT Madras Online Form.
- Then use the link Submit Application to choose a Department and the area you are applying for in that Department – one Department at a time.
- You can use the same link to apply to multiple Departments.
- Make payment of application fee
- Once you have completed all the steps above, you can click on the Application no to download the PDF file of your application form.
