Department of Pre-University, Government of Karnataka is the organization for implementation of higher secondary education in the state. It conducts examination for PUC Ist and IInd year that is 11th & 12th and large no. of students has appeared for this examination.

There are 1202 Govt Pre University institution, 637 Aided Pre University institutions, 1936 Unaided Pre University institution, 165 bifurcated Pre University colleges & 13 Corporation Pre university institution and they work under the Department of Primary & Secondary Education.
