Motive of CSE:

Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil Services examination twice in a year. CSE includes total 24 completive examinations such as IAS, IPS IFS and various others. Among all other examination Indian administrative services Examination is the most prominent among Indian citizen. Commission conducts this exam in order to recruit the eligible, capable and deserving candidates to fill vacant position in civil services. UPSC Civil Services Mains Result:

  • Total 1099 (500 Gen + 347 OBC + 163 SC + 89 ST) candidates are selected for the civil service posts.
  • Approx 11, 35,943 candidates applied for this Civil Services Examination but actual candidates who have participated are 4, 59,659.
  • Around 15,452 candidates have qualified the prelims and appeared for Mains Examination conducted in December 2016.
  • Then 2,961 candidates will be shortlisted for personality test which was conducted in March-May, 2017.

Final Result Of IAS Exam:

Based on the performance of candidates in prelims, mains and interview/ personality test total 1099 candidates are selected for the vacant position in which 846 candidates are men and 253 are women. Also, commission has appointed 44 Physically Handicapped candidates (included in 1099) (22 Orthopedically Handicapped, 07 visually Challenged and 15 Hearing Impaired candidates).
