आईआरसीटीसी का मतलब भारतीय रेलवे खानपान और पर्यटन निगम है। यह भारतीय रेलवे के खानपान, पर्यटन और ऑनलाइन टिकट संचालन को संभालने के लिए रेल मंत्रालय द्वारा स्थापित भारतीय रेलवे की एक सहायक कंपनी है। यह उपयोगकर्ताओं को उनके ऑनलाइन पोर्टल www.irctc.co.in से होटल और रेलवे टिकट ऑनलाइन बुक करने की सुविधा प्रदान करता है। आईआरसीटीसी के वर्तमान (अक्टूबर 2017 तक) अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक महेंद्र प्रताप मॉल हैं। आईआरसीटीसी का मुख्य मिशन सर्वोत्तम उद्योग प्रथाओं के माध्यम से रेलवे खानपान, आतिथ्य, यात्रा और पर्यटन में ग्राहक सेवाओं और सुविधा में सुधार करना है।
Services Offered by IRCTC:
1) Food:
When IRCTC was not there, we have seen that while travelling passengers of Indian Railways has very less options for quality food. They have to get off from stations to buy food and that sometimes seems to be unhygienic. When IRCTC arrival has been done, we have seen that pantry cars were introduced for serving freshly cooked food to the passengers that have to travel medium or long distances by trains.
2) Online Ticketing:
Online Train Ticket Bookings are done using internet services through IRCTC website. Persons that are travelling on regular basis can also book season tickets by visiting the official website. “ShubhYatra” loyalty program was also launched so that passengers can avail discounts on all tickets booked round the year.
Rolling Deposit Scheme (RDS), a kind of e-ticket booking scheme was also launched that allows the passengers in reservation of seats by keeping advance money to the corporation.
3) Tatkal Scheme:
Under this scheme, passengers whose journey is planned within short time duration can book their tickets in all mail / express trains. One day before the departure of train, booking reservation starts from 10:00 am for air conditioned coaches and at 11:00 am for general coaches.

4) Tourism:
Tourists that are from India and abroad, IRCTC is also organizing deluxe package tours for them. “Bharat Darshan” was the popular tourist package that was introduced by IRCTC, so that tourists can visit important places of India.

Not only train tickets, IRCTC is also booking air travel tickets through its official website. Air Ticket Booking is done for all domestic and international travel.
