Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi took the oath of office on 30th May 2019, along with the Council ministers of India. Total 58 Ministers are there in the cabinet of Modi, under which there are 25 Cabinet Ministers, 24 Ministers of State and 9 are the Ministers of State that are of Independent Charge. The Council of states is divided into four categories:
- The Cabinet Ministers,
- Minister of States,
- Minister of States with independent charge,
- Deputy Ministers

1) Cabinet Ministers: The cabinet ministers works under the Prime Minister and takes necessary decision. Cabinet Minister is appointed by the President and is chosen by the Prime Minster.
2) Minister of States with Independent Charge: These work same as cabinet ministers but they are not allowed in cabinet meetings and are not counted as the member of the cabinet.
3) Ministers of States: The guidance to them is given cabinet minister and they are in charge of some specific departments. A minister of states is guided by the cabinet minister.
4) Deputy Ministers: They help in assisting the cabinet ministers in parliamentary work and political duties. They are counted under the lowest rank in the government.
