Categories of Ministries in the Government:

The Council of states is divided into four categories:

  • The Cabinet Ministers,
  • Minister of States,
  • Minister of States with independent charge,
  • Deputy Ministers

1) Cabinet MinistersThe cabinet ministers works under the Prime Minister and takes necessary decision. Cabinet Minister is appointed by the President and is chosen by the Prime Minster.

2) Minister of States with Independent ChargeThese work same as cabinet ministers but they are not allowed in cabinet meetings and are not counted as the member of the cabinet.

3) Ministers of StatesThe guidance to them is given cabinet minister and they are in charge of some specific departments. A minister of states is guided by the cabinet minister.

4) Deputy Ministers: They help in assisting the cabinet ministers in parliamentary work and political duties. They are counted under the lowest rank in the government.
