For example: To convert 9.1 CGPA to percentage, we multiply it with 9.5 and the resulting number 86.5 is the percentage.

How to calculate average CGPA?

Formula: Sum of all the Grade Points of each subject / total number of subjects

For Example,

  • The sum of Grade Points of each subject will be: 8+9+9+9.5+7= 42.5
  • Now Dividing 42.5 by 5, we get 8.5 which is the aggregate CGPA.

How To calculate subject wise indicative percentage of marks?

Formula: 9.5x GP (Grade Points) of the subject

How to convert Percentage to CGPA?

Formula: CGPA = Percentage (%) / 9.5

For Example: To convert 80 Percentage to CGPA, we divide it with 9.5 and the resulting number 8.4 is the CGPA

Cumulative Grade Points Average is the average of Grade Points obtained in five subjects excluding additional 6th subject as per format of Studies. Central Board Of Secondary Education no longer ranks tenth class candidates on the basis of marks but on the basis of CGPA.
