As per SSC CHSL Descriptive Exam Syllabus Pdf, SSC CHSL Tier-II is a descriptive test is conducted to test written skills of candidates in English/Hindi. The paper involves writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and Letter/Application writing of about 150-200 words.

- Total Marks Are 100 Marks.
- The Questions Are Based on the Concepts Of 10th standard.
- Time duration is 80 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped or suffer from cerebral palsy.

Skill test for Data Entry Operator:
- It is of QUALIFYING nature. This skill test will be organized only for Data Entry Operator post. Candidates need to hold Data Entry Speed of 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer.
- The ‘Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour on Computer’ will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/key depressions. Only 15 minutes will be allotted to the aspirants.
- The printed matter in English containing about 2000- 2200 strokes/key-depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the Computer.
Typing Test for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant LDCs and Court Clerks:
- Typing Test will be conducted only in English or Hindi and only those candidates will find eligible for this exam who get shortlisted in Written Examination (Tier-I) and Descriptive Paper (Tier-II).
- Candidates have to fill your choice/option for Skill Test Medium at the time filling application form. Those who have opted English medium, they have to hold typing speed of 35 words per minute and for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 30 words per minute
