GATE Score

The normal cutoff is around 650-700 GATE score (could be a bit higher too sometimes). To get such a score, you need to secure atleast 55-60 out of 100. GATE score is calculated out of 1000. This GATE score computed based on the marks (normalized) obtained by the candidate and mean marks of top 0.1% or top 10 of the candidates who appeared in the same paper including multi-session.

  • Applicants can go for GOAPS Registration through online mode visiting by the official website of organization that is
  • Choose “Brochure” link which is shown at the right side of the homepage under “Quick Links” section.
  • Read GATE 2020 Notification to ensure the requirements.
  • Select suitable link for online GATE Registration.
  • Enter personal mobile number and e-mail address for doing complete communication through it.
  • After registration, all candidates have GOAPS Enrollment ID.
  • Go through GOAPS Login, you need to enter this GOAPS password and Enrolment ID.
  • Then you must go for filling up GATE 2020 Application form.
  • Make the payment of GATE Application Fee and upload required documents.
  • Recheck GATE Application Form and hit on “Submit” tab.
  • At last, you need to take a print out of the GATE 2020 Form for future reference.

Marking Scheme of GATE Exam
For 1-mark MCQs, 1/3 mark will be deducted for every incorrect attempt.In case of 2-mark MCQs, 2/3 mark will be deducted for wrong attempt.For questions that aren’t attempted, zero marks will be awarded.There is no Negative Marking for numerical answer type (NAT) questions.
