Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee is conducting GATE Exam (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) on scheduled date that is  4th, 5th, 11th & 12th February 2017. GATE Exam 2017, is a national level examination for admission in M.E. / M.Tech/ Direct Ph.D. courses in Indian institutes for session of 2017. Interested applicants can submit their prescribed applications against this Notification. GATE Application Forms are invited from skilled individuals till date of closing that is 4th October 2016.

GATE Examination Fee:

  • For Women candidates: Rs. 750
  • For SC/ ST/ PwD* category candidates: Rs. 750
  • For All other candidates: Rs. 1500
  • For GATE International candidates: US Dollars 50

Mode of Payment:

  • Fee can be submitted through online mode using net banking / debit card / e-challan facilities.
  • Additional charges will be applicable as per the rule of the bank from where the money is being transferred.

GATE Exam Pattern:

Paper will contain Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and Numerical Answer Questions. Duration of the paper will be 3 hours. You may also go through below given link to get complete details about GATE exam pattern.

  • Examination will contain total 65 questions, which will carry 100 marks.
  • Out of 100 question 10 que. Will carry 15 marks will be on General Aptitude (GA).
  • Papers bearing the codes AE, AG, BT, CE, CH, CS, EC, EE, IN, ME, MN, MT, PE, PI, TF and XE, the Engineering Mathematics will carry around 15% of the total marks.
  • 15% of the total marks is given to the General Aptitude section.
  • The other subject of the paper will carry 70% of the total mark.
  • Papers bearing the codes AR, CY, EY, GG, MA, PH and XL, the General Aptitude section will carry 15% and other subjects will carry 85% of the total marks.

GATE Exam Admit Card:

  • Candidates can download their Admit card through official portal that is gate.iitr.ernet.in from 5th January 2017 (tentative). No Hall Ticket will be sent through post/ email.
  • Candidates should bring Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering Admit Card original and valid photo identification photocopy / scanned copy/ invalid or expired identification.

GATE 2017 Results:

  • Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering Result will be available on March 27, 2017 at 17:00 hours on official site of organization.
  • Score card may be may be made available on payment basis to Government organizations.

How to fill GATE Application Form?

  • Aspirants, who are willing to apply for GATE 2017, firstly log on to official website which is gate.iitr.ernet.in.
  • Then read information brochure properly before filling online form.
  • Now firstly register yourself with valid details.
  • Now login your account and Fill Online Application Form.
  • Upload photograph, signature, thumb impression and other relevant documents such as, graduation certificate, category certificate (wherever applicable) etc.
  • Pay your application fee as given above through proper channel.
  • Finally, make payment for application fee to complete registration process.

Photograph:

  • Photo should be in color and taken after 1 August 2016.
  • Standard size of the photo is 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm (Width x Height).
  • Max pixel resolution for JPEG: 480 × 640 (0.3 Mega pixel) and min pixel resolution for JPEG: 240 × 320.

Signature:

  • size of signature can be 2 cm × 7 cm (Height x Width).
  • Only JPEG image formats will be accepted.
  • The max pixel resolution for the image is 160 × 560 and min pixel resolution for the image is 80 × 280.

Thumb Impression:

  • Size of signature can be 3 cm × 5 cm (Height x Width).
  • Only JPEG image formats will be accepted.
  • The max pixel resolution for the image is 160 × 560 and min pixel resolution for the image is 80 × 280.
