HCL Interview Experience
I am jai arya, student of computer science studied in CUSAT. I am feeling very glad to say that I got placed this year to HCL technologies. Friends, but still I can’t believe that I was selected among 1000+ candidates.
HCL Technology had come in our institute on 12th February 2014 for campus selection. I am feeling very proud to share my own experiences with HCL Tech. Everyone knows about this famed IT-company very well.
HCL selection process was a little different compared to the others. The selection process has five rounds and would be conducted within 2-3 days. The result would be announced 2 days after the completion of all the rounds.
The Hiring process consists of 5 steps:
- Grammar test.
- Group discussion.
- Technical round.
- HR Interview.
- Aptitude test.
Every round was an Elimination Round!
1st round was simple
There were 20 questions of easy fill up. I don’t think any need to prepare for this. They simply test my English grammar by this round.

2nd round was GD
It was just to test my pronunciation, my communication skills and Questions about HCL. I was confident on my speech, Spoke loudly and clearly so that the entire panel in the cabin can understand what I was talking about. Guys, through this round HR wish to see individual’s confidence and the clarity in my speech.
3rd round was on next day
It was the technical level and very excited for it. This is the round where I must be good at the technical knowledge. The TR manager was firstly asked me introduce myself by seeing into my resume. I included C language in my resume, and then he asked me about C language in depth.
He also asked me completely about my stream i.e. ASP.NET, Dot Net, Char, TRUNCATE, data types etc. Sometimes I didn’t know the answer of few questions then I clearly said that sir I don’t know about it. So Guys, be free with TR manager, wish him and get wished. Don’t be nervous and try to be confident in front of TR manager. Among 50 members, only 15 cleared this round and the next round was conducted immediately.
4th round was the HR round
It was not a Personal interview. At that time, 7 member’s panel was asked in the HR cabin and interview was conducted in parallel by cross questions. Guys, be bold and be attentive for this level of selection. Be honest with your resume.
He asked me everything what I had written in the resume i.e. my hobbies, my strengths my interests, weaknesses, my marriage status etc. Further they asked me why they should hire me. Friends, don’t try to be fake, they’ll easily identify you, don’t feel terrible even if they scold you. Sometimes, they examine our patience.
5th round was aptitude test
This was the final round in the selection process. It was consisted of some fundamental quantitative ability, logical analysis and verbal reasoning. It is the subject to practice and try to make learn them.
When the aptitude test was over, we were requested to wait for the expected results.
After three days, I got a call saying that I was selected in HCL. Out of 15 members, only 5 individuals were selected and I was one of them. Really guys, you don’t believe that I was become very emotional to hear it that I was become the part of HCL TECH. It became possible just strong will power, full confident, good strategies for interview preparation and blessings of god.
