About the Indian Administrative Service Exam:

The Prelims are held in August and the results are announced in Oct-November. The Main examination will held around December and the candidates who qualify at this stage will be interviewed in March-April / May next year. The final recruitment and posting of candidates depends on their ranking and the available vacancies for different posts to be filled during that particular year.

All such candidates who qualify to appear for the Civil Services Main Examination must produce proof of having passed the prelims examination along with their application for the Main Examination.

Services (Preliminary) Examination:

This examination consist Objective Type Questions of 400 marks which will be based on General Studies and Aptitude Skills. This exam will be conducted by UPSC to short list candidates for main exam.

Personality Test

A personality test of 275 Marks would be taken of the candidates qualified in the mains Examination. This would include the psychometric Test, Assessment Test as well as the Personal Interview. The Marks obtained in the Personality Test would be added in the calculation for the declaration of the final Merit list.
