Overall the JEE Main 2018 examination was slightly on the difficult side. A few questions in the paper were straightforward and could be solved by a student who has been preparing sincerely for the exam.

  • In Physics paper, overall questions were slightly on the difficult side compared to last year. By and large, paper was on the expected lines with few elements of surprise.

  • Maximum marks 183.
  • 3 Parts – Part I (Physics), Part II (Chemistry), Part III (Mathematics)

Each part had 3 sections as described in JEE Advanced Analysis.

Section 1

  • Maximum marks 28
  • 7 questions – one or more answer correct type
  • Full marks: +4 If only the bubble / bubbles corresponding to all correct options is (are) darkened.
  • Negative marks: -2 In all other cases.

  • Maximum marks 15
  • 5 questions – Single digit integer answer ranging from 0 to 9, both inclusive.

  • Full marks: +3 If only the bubble corresponding to correct options is darkened.
  • Negative marks: -1 In all other cases.
