MICAT Exam Pattern

MICAT Examination is conducted twice in a year MICAT-I and MICAT II for providing admission to the contenders into Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Communications (PGDM-C). MICAT Exam Pattern have provided here for assisting appearing contenders in the examination as two MICAT scores will be considered for offering admission. MICAT Entrance Exam Pattern comprises marking scheme, difficulty level, no. of questions and various details that can help you to acknowledge more about the examination. Apart from it, contenders can check MICAT Paper I/II Test Structure in PDF format also.

Final selection of the contenders will be made on the basis of three stages i.e. in first stage contenders will be shortlisted on the basis of CAT 2017, XAT 2018 and GMAT scores. In second stage all candidates will be evaluated on the basis of different sections of MICAT 2018. At last contenders are required to appear in Group Exercise and Personal Interview. Final merit list will be prepared with the help of final composite score (FCS) and specific weightages given to CAT/XAT/GMAT, MICAT, GE and PI.   • There is no negative marking for Descriptive and Psychometric sections.
  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 in section including VA, QA, GA and DCR.

There will be 30 questions asked among them some will be easy questions as mentioned in the table below, but overall difficulty level of the section was higher than previous year’s paper.

General Knowledge

This section had 25 questions related to Banking & Finance asked in the exam. The level of difficulty was higher than previous year’s. This section this year missed familiar questions like match the following:

Verbal Ability

The Verbal Ability questions were easy. The Grammar concepts tested were: Adverbs, Prepositions and Pronouns. The vocabulary questions were also easy to answer. (Individual, Reverberate, Obliterated, and the Antonym of Essential) The Reading Comprehension passage was an easy-read with 5 questions: 2 were fact based, 2 were based on main idea and 1 was on meaning. All the questions were easy.

MICAT 1 Analysis Part 3: Psychometric Test

  • There was no negative marking for the psychometric test.
  • This section is compulsory, so candidates have to attempt all the questions in this part.
  • The instruction sheet clearly stated that failure to attempt all the questions in this part would lead to disqualification.
  • The first set of MCQs asked which of the following three choices best match your character traits.
  • The second set of questions had 6 statements each, where these statements had to be ordered according to the test taker’s priorities.
  • There were total 36 questions in this section.
