NCERT conducts the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) Exam to identify talented students and nurture their talent. Candidates who want to appear in the NTSE Examination need to apply by filling up the online application form for Stage–I/II.

National Talent Search Examination scheme covers branches like Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law. It honors and helps talented students by providing financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship

NTSE Stage 2 Examinations:

The NTSE Stage 2 Examination is going to be held on 13-05-2018. Those candidates who have qualified the NTSE 1 Examination will now appear in the Stage 2 Examination. Aspirants who haven’t applied for the examination yet and are interested for the upcoming one they may take the advantage of details given here on this page.

National Council of Educational Research & Training has authority to conduct National Talent Search Exam for those candidates, who want to remain their study after 10th. On the above stated dates, National Talent Search Exam will be organized by organization.

NTSE Scholarship Details

About one thousand scholarships are awarded for different stages of education as follows:

  • Scholarship of Rs.1250/- per month for Class-XI to XII
  • Scholarship of Rs.2000/- per month for Undergraduates and Post-graduates
  • Amount of Scholarship for Ph.D. is fixed in accordance with the UGC norms

Eligibility for Scholarship

  • Those candidates who will be selected for scholarship shall be paid for pursuing studies in India only.
  • Appliers must be a Class 10th student.
  • He/ she should be studying in Class 10th from a recognized school.
  • A student doing Class 10th through ODL (Open Distance Learning) is also eligible to appear in the NTSE Exam, provided he/ she should be less than 18 years of age.


15% for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5% for students belonging to the ST category and 4% for Physically Challenged Group of Students, with benchmark disabilities of which, one per cent each shall be reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities under clauses (a), (b) and (c) and one per cent for persons with benchmark disabilities under clauses (d) and (e) namely:

  • blindness and low vision;
  • deaf and hard of hearing;
  • locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy;
  • autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness;
  • multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness in the posts identified for each disabilities’

Qualifying Marks

Candidates, who belong from General category, their qualifying marks  is 40% in each paper and for candidates from SC, ST and PH is 32% in each paper.

How to Fill NTSE Scholarship Application Form?

  • First of all, contenders are required to visit the official website of organization that is
  • From the homepage, you have to choose “Programmes”tab which is shown at the top side of the homepage.
  • Now, you have to select suitable link for that posts which you are looking for the purpose of applying NTSE Scholarship.
  • Application Form for scholarship can be obtained from State/UT Liaison Officers.
  • After that, students need to Fill Application form in correct manner with relevant information.
  • Contenders, if you arebelonging to SC/ST/PH category should enclose Caste/Disability certificate with filled in Application form.
  • Applicants must get the Application signed by Principal of the school.
  • The filled Application Form should be forwarded to relevant State Liaison Office.
  • No Application should be forwarded to NCERT address.
  • Candidates should submit the filled in Applications prior to end date.
