Railway Selection Procedure

Indian Railway Selection Procedure Post Wise:

RRB Selection Process is important part of any recruitment; it creates a base for short listing the candidates. RRB & RRC conducts the Written Exam, Interviews and Skill Test & Typing Test to check the skills of applicants that he/ she eligible for the post or not.

Railway NTPC Selection Procedure:

So, basically, RRB NTPC Selection Process consists of four stages which include:

  • First stage computer-based test
  • Second stage computer-based test
  • Typing Skill Test/Aptitude Test
  • Document Verification

First Stage Computer-Based Test:

  • The First Stage Computer-Based is conducted in Computer Based Mode.
  • As per the scheme of examination, first stage CBT comprised of General Awareness, Arithmetic Ability, General Intelligence and General Science.
  • The First Stage Computer-Based Test exam is conducted for 100 marks.

Second Stage Computer-Based Test:

  • RRB NTPC Question Paper will come from Arithmetic Ability, Reasoning & General Intelligence, General Awareness and General Science.
  • There will be total 120 questions and each question carry one mark.

Typing Skill Test/Aptitude Test:

Aptitude Test:

  • Aptitude Test will be conducted through online mode that is Computer Based Test for ASM.
  • The ratio of 2nd stage CBT marks and Aptitude Test marks shall be 70:30.
  • Aptitude Test marks will be added to 2nd Stage written examination (CBT) marks, for preparing the merit list.

Typist Skill Test:

  • Typing Skill Test will be conducted for Sr. Clerk-cum-Typist Post and it is qualifying in nature.
  • Applicants need to type 300 words at the minimum speed of 30 w.p.m. in English or 250 words at 25 w.p.m. in Hindi on computer.
  • The duration of exam is 10 minutes.

Document Verification:

The candidates who have qualified the online test and have scored good marks will be called for document verification. After document verification, the candidates will be provided an appointment.

Railway JE Selection Procedure & SSE Selection Process:

RRB JE & Railway SSE Selection Procedure consists of three stages:

  • Written Examination
  • Document Verification
  • Medical Examination

Document Verification:

As per Railway Selection Procedure, Candidates will have to produce their original documents & certificates during document verification.

Medical Examination:

Applicants recommended for Railway Selection Procedure will have to pass requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the railway Administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties properly.

Railway Group D Selection Procedure:

Railway Selection Procedure of Group D consists of following rounds:

  • Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Document Verification

Written Examination:

  • The first stage of RRB Group D Exam will be the computer-based test.
  • It will be taken through online mode only.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

As per Railway Selection Procedure, Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is the second stage of the examination. After clearing the CBT, the candidates will be shortlisted to take the PET.

Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 4 minute and 15 seconds in one chanceShould be able to run for a distance of 400 meters in 3 minute and 10 seconds in one chance

Document Verification:

  • The candidate who will clear the CBT and PET will be called for document verification.
  • If there will be a tie in case of same marks, the older candidate will be considered for the selection.
  • The Candidates shortlisted for document verification are required to produce all original documents along with the two sets of their self-attested photocopies.

Railway Group C Selection Procedure:

The RRB ALP Technician Selection Process will be decided on the basis of the four stages as elaborated below.

  • First Stage Exam
  • Second Stage CBT Exam
  • Third Stage Exam (for ALP)
  • Document Verification

First Stage Exam Pattern:

First of all, applicants have to clear the First Stage Exam. Those who will qualify the exam may appear for Second Stage Exam.

Third Stage Exam:

  • The computer-based aptitude test is only applicable the ALP Aspirants.
  • The candidates who will be qualifying in second stage (Part A and B) they will be able to take the computer-based aptitude test.
  • The weightage in Part A will 70% and from Part B, it will be 30%.
  • The candidates must appear in every stage Computer Based Aptitude Test before this stage to take the CBAT.
  • There will be no negative marking applicable for this test.
  • Candidate must score 42% to qualify this stage.

Document Verification:

  • After successfully clearing all the three stages mentioned above, candidates will be called for the document verification.
  • In case two candidates securing the same marks, their selection will be done on the basis of age criteria and the older candidate will get the preference.
