The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is going to conduct the Combined Graduate Level Examination for the students. All those candidates who are preparing for this examination, they may get the detailed SSC CGL Syllabus 2016 from here so that it becomes easy for you to manage study! Students must go through the below provided syllabus for SSC CGL Tier 1 & 2 examination to get the idea of the format and type of questions likely to be asked in the exam.

Every year, SSC Department conducts this SSC CGL Examination and selects the eligible and deserving candidates for filing up the vacant posts in various Central Govt. Department and Ministries. The Staff Selection Commission CGL Examination is organized in two Parts that is Tier-1 and Tier-2.  Only those candidates who qualify in Tier-1 and Tier-2 exam would be eligible to be considered for being called for the Tier-3 exam.

SSC CGL Syllabus


  • 1st Tier- Written Examination
  • 2nd Tier- Main Written Examination
  • 3rd Tier – Personality Test /Interview or Skill Test / Physical Endurance Test (PET)/Medical Examination.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern Tier –I:

For the Tier-I examination, you will get questions from all four topics- English, Mathematics, Reasoning, and General Awareness. Each section has 50 Questions and each question carry 1 marks.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern Tier –II:

The Tier-2 Exam will have Sections viz English and Quantitative Aptitude. Questions in these sections are asked from the topics given below.
